What are the sleeping arrangements like?
There are a total of 10 rooms in the 2 large villas. Each room accommodates anywhere from 2-4 people, in private single or shared double beds. Beds will be chosen upon arrival unless otherwise requested in your application.
There are 8 shared bathrooms, 2 shared kitchen, 2 pools, and ample community lounging spaces.
Is food provided?
We will have food available for your first two meals, as indicated below, after which, you will be in charge of taking care of all your own food purchasing, preparation, and clean up. We set it up this way so that everybody can choose their ideal plant food, and that we can prepare meals in community.
The first meal on the evening of January 10th will be fruit, greens, and a couple of simple cooked plant-based food options. The following morning after yoga on January 11th, we will have two simple options of chopped fruit.
We will make two group trips to the market so that you can stock up on what you need.
We reccomend arriving at the house with some of your own food if you are able to get to a market before your arrival.
We encourage eating in community throughout your time at the retreat, and joining up with other participants to prepare meals as you enjoy. After trying retreats with various models, we believe that allowing each individual to see to their own dietary preferences allows for the most comfortable experience for everyone. Food is very affordable in Thailand.
Do I need to bring a towel?
No, you do not. Towels and linens are provided, however you can of course bring your own as well.
How will we get around?
We will get around by tsongtoas (covered trucks that serve as taxis), which we will have organized for the group to and from all the events on the schedule.
If you want to organize transportation for yourself to do anything else during the retreat, we reccomend using Uber (an app that you can download to your phone to order a car).
There are also some bikes available at the retreat house, which you can use to bike to the market and other local stores.
How many people will be at the Retreat?
This year we have space for 23 participants. There are 3 admins, so in total we will be 26.
Can I stay with my friends?
When purchasing your ticket you may specify if you want to share a bed with a certain person. There will also be a place to add special circumstances for group bookings at this time, for example if you want to specify more than one other person that you would like to share a room with.
Do I need to eat a plant-based (vegan) diet at the Retreat?
We ask that participants only bring plant-based (vegan) food into the Retreat house. We also ask that the house be free of drugs & alcohol. We invite you to eat whatever you desire outside of the retreat house environment.
Is there wireless internet at the retreat space?
What if I am unable to make it after purchasing a ticket?
More than 30 days before the start of the retreat: If you are unable to make it and want to resell your ticket, please notify us as soon as you know. If we have a waitlist, we will refund your ticket minus the processing fees and offer the space to the next person on the list. Otherwise, we can help you post a notice about it in the Fruit Winter Facebook group. The person who buys your ticket can pay you directly.
If we are within 30 days of the retreat, tickets are no longer exchangeable.
